Bigfoot is a cryptid in Cryptids Island that is supposedly related to the Yeti.

Characteristics

Bigfoot, Sasquatch, The Yeti. He has many names, but eyewitnesses all describe him the same way: between 6 and 10 feet tall, covered in shiny fur, and smells worse than a pair of stinky sneakers. And, of course, he's got really big feet. Based on this description, some people believe that Bigfoot is left over from ancient time. Half human, half ape, he should've been extinct a long time ago. Bigfoot can be found all over the world. In the Himalayan mountainsmonks have reported seeing what they call a Yeti for many years. They have taken footprint casts as proof and even have a yeti scalp locked away in a monastery. Bigfoot is also said to roam the forest in the Pacific Northwest in the United States. In 1967, a famous video of a Bigfoot was taken by Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin in California. It clearly shows that creature walking across a rocky sea. Many believe this is the fast evidence of Bigfoot. Years later, a friend of the men said he wore an ape costume for the video. Believers in Bigfoot say he is lying.

Storyline

Role in Cryptids Island

The player will find it after they've confirmed the existence of the other cryptids (namely the Jersey DevilNessie, and the Chupacabra) and giving up on the search for the Yeti. They must chase it through the woods without losing sight of it until it reaches its cave. Gretchen Grimlock will appear out of nowhere--apparently having followed the player--and capture Bigfoot. To free it, the player will have to open the fuel tank from Gretchen's helicopter and cut the rope holding its cage using the Garden Shears.(You have to see him sad! It's so cute!)

Trivia

  • A picture of Bigfoot in the Mews mansion is an allusion to the Patterson-Gimlin footage; ironically, despite this being the most famous and well-known image of the creature, it has since been proven to have been a hoax.
    • Coincidentally, this is also the case with the "Surgeon's Photograph" of Nessie, which is also depicted in the island.
  • While the video description says that the Patterson-Gimlin footage shows Bigfoot walking through a rocky sea, the real footage actually showed Bigfoot walking through what appears to be a creek in the forest.
  • This is the only cryptid that you will see in more than one place.
  • It allegedly attacked Gretchen Grimlock once while she was looking for a rare endangered flower, explaining her scar and obsession/hatred of cryptids.
